Puppies

Upcoming Litter Plans

At Northern Sky Leonbergers, our puppies are very special to us and we are looking for the best homes for them.  All our breeding dogs have completed their OFA Hips, Elbows, Thyroid, CERF Eye Exam, LPN1, LPN2, LPPN3, and Lemp tests.

“Zachary”

GCH CH Zachary Der Deutsche Kaiser Bory Cysterskie

“Frannie”

GCH CH Cranberry Bory Cysterskie

We are excited about this pairing of Zachary and Frannie and anxiously waiting for confirmation of pregnancy. We believe this pairing will be a nice combination of some excellent European lines.

Zachary and Frannie are both sweet, happy Leonbergers. Zachary seems to always be smiling, and Frannie is very sweet and gentle. We believe this match will produce puppies with the same gentle, easy-going temperament. With this match we are also hoping for puppies with excellent movement. Zachary is our “mover in the ring”, with amazing reach and drive. Frannie is our little sportscar; very fast, light on her feet, and smooth on the run.

Timeline: We will confirm pregnancy in February - puppies would arrive early March! Ready to go to their new homes in May/June.

Puppy Information & Policies

When purchasing a puppy from Northern Sky Leonbergers, you will be required to sign a contract which protects both of us as well as the puppy.

Our puppies are raised in our home and are exposed to a variety of activities, surfaces, noises, and obstacles. We conduct a complete structural evaluation at 8 weeks, as well as evaluate temperaments to match the right puppy to each home. Our puppies usually go to their new homes between 8 and 9 weeks of age. Prior to going home, they receive first vaccinations, are microchipped, dewormed, introduced to a crate, and given a clean bill of health by our veterinarian.  Each puppy will be AKC registered.

We do not ship puppies as cargo or freight. We prefer that new puppy owners travel to us to pick up the puppy. We feel it is important for us to meet our puppy owners in person and for you to meet us as well. Plus, traveling with your new puppy is a wonderful bonding experience.

We are available to our puppy families to answer any questions or concerns, and we would love updates on these puppies throughout their lives. If any of our puppies are no longer wanted or cannot be kept for any reason and at any age, we do require that we are notified immediately. We will either take them back or we will assist with rehoming.

To ensure the well-being of our puppies, we maintain sole discretion in determining the suitability of a particular home and/or individual(s) for a Leonberger. In addition, getting on the wait list does not guarantee that you will get a puppy from our next litter. All is dependent upon the size and gender distribution of the litter, and number of prospective parents on the wait list.
